Never buy a computer from Best Buy

And it gets worse: Started off that the first of June I bought a Dell Studio lap top from Best Buy in Savannah, Ga.   I also bought MS Office pack.   I told the clerk that I needed it to be able to be used on 3 separate computers and I took what I was given.   It was not until I went to install it that I realized that it was only good for 1 computer.   A total waste of $249.   Took the software back to see if we could actually get what we asked for and were told by the manager (after he chuckled) that it was our problem.   He was very unprofessional and very rude for a manager of a store that deals with the public.   All I wanted was for him to take the software and give us the version we needed – I had no problems paying the extra for what we needed but according to him we had to pay full price and keep the useless software.   For these troubles I was given a $50 gift certificate to compensate for the wasted $249. Got the computer home and within a week the virus protection was finding a virus that was in the installed software.   It had not even been on the internet.   Upon asking I was told that it was a manufacturers issue and not a Best Buy issue.   After several hours of fighting with the virus protection I got that issue resolved.   After a week or so I would expect better treatment from the store selling the product. Just under 2 months old and I get the blue screen of death.   We take it into the geek squad hoping to exchange it for a computer with hopefully fewer problems.   Not so – they took it and shipped it off for a 2 week turn around.   This computer was bought for my wife to do pictures and photography   on.   We have clients that have been on hold now for 2   months as we try to get these issues resolved.   Got the computer back yesterday and the Geek Squad staff member told my wife (after she asked) that there was no since in turning it on – it would work, all the proper checks had been done.   Today we turned it on and got the message – BOOTMGR – Missing.   Now we head back to Best Buy and Savannah to see if maybe they can actually fix what they started.   They say now that it is operating system and that it is going to cost a minimum of $150 to repair a computer we have not even used.  THIS IS ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS!!!!!!! This has been an absolutely HORRIBLE experience.   Customer service is a lost cause anymore – non-existent.   If they wouldn’t charge 15% restocking fee I would have given back this computer in a heart beat and never stepped foot back in that store.   Who should I contact to get some answers to these issues on a brand new computer? Maybe issue an invoice for lost income?   BBB maybe, media maybe – don’t know but this has been ridiculous.
