I’ve got a Vista here that I purchased about three years ago. I’ve been having some troubles with it, and a couple of months ago it completely died. I tried using the system recovery discs, but no luck.   I just bought a new harddrive, as I was told that it would probably fix the problem. I followed the manual carefully, everything’s plugged in where it’s supposed to be, but when I tried to start it up and inserted the installation disc, I got "Bios rom checksum error". I’ve been trying to figure out what the problem might be, but I’ve found no such luck searching the various net forums.   Is there any way I can fix this from home? If not, about how much might it cost to take it in to the Geek Squad and get it fixed?   Thanks, Kiri
