Hello all. I live in Thailand at the moment… and had a power problem recently which is very usual here… Both Laptops I own at the moment were pluged in when it happened. The result: I had to replace the charger (luckily the laptops are ok)… But since I live in Thailand I had problems to find the correct charger for it. I have two almost new Toshiba Laptops which had chargers with an output of 19Volt and 3.95 A. The Only thing I could find here in a computerstore are Acer chargers with an output of 19Volt and 3.42 A. I am using it right now, and it fits, and my Laptop is working as it should. Question: could there be any problems in the future because the 3.42A instead of the 3.95A? Thanks… cgÂ

No Comments »Maybe it’s a good time to reset my computer… (help!!)
July 16th, 2009 jedwan Hello. This will be my first time on this forum. I’m username Vza004. I buy most of my electronics at BestBuy. So, here’s my problem. I recently uninstalled a game which I installed in the wrong folder and almost all of my programs were deleted with it and my laptop or Windows didn’t automatically create any cheack points for me. Although I created a check point, Windows deleted it and didn’t created one which is suppose to. So Windows System Restore is out of the question. Second, I tried to recover the files using a program called Recuva. It recovered the files but, when restoring it, the files doesn’t go back to their respective or original folders. So I thought maybe it’s time to restore my laptop to the Factory Settings and start anew since I’m not sure what files I’m missing. Geek Squad I would like to ask of how much it’ll cost me for you guys to restore my computer to factory settings. Of course, I also have the installation disk that came with the laptop.

July 16th, 2009 jedwan I recently bought a new Sony Vaio VGN-NW125J. When I bought the laptop, I was under the impression that I was supposed to receive a free 12 months of Norton Anti-virus. When I try to open the application, a message pops up telling me that I have an invalid product key and also gives me an option to type in a different product key. The troubleshooting tells me that I was supposed to have been provided a product key in the package. I could not find a product key for the application. Maybe it was false advertising, but could somebody verify this for me?

July 16th, 2009 jedwan Hey, I have been going to the store next to me looking for this flight sim game and I can’t seem to find it. It is very highly rated and it supposed to have screaming graphics. July 16th, 2009 jedwan I have a website that keeps me on the computer from early morning to late in the evening. Presently I have a Dell Prescision 450 that I purchased several years ago. I am wanting to purchase an HP at Best Buy and wonder if I need to purchase something "special" since my computer is on so many hours a day?  Also, I do a LOT of multi-tasking. I might have 4 websites up, Gmail, Excel, NoteTab, and Photo Shop all at the same time. How much memory is suggested for this?  I do not understand computers or the computer lingo, so please tell me like you would tell your grandma.

July 16th, 2009 jedwan Last year the wife’s brother purchaced and sent us a COMPAQ Presario PC with Vista on it. A few weeks ago the wife did a complete system restore to factory settings on the machine, we noticed that the Vista "key" changed and I recognized that as a sign of a Refurbished Machine. Since the restore, this moronic Vista machine has been acting up with all sorts of things. Â #1. We had to put in an nVIDIA e-GeForce 8400 GS card since the onboard graphics were a joke. Since the restore, the thing keeps resettings the display from 1024×768 to 800×600 and keeps telling us the nVIDIA drivers have stopped working. Â #2. When ever I check the space left on the harddrive, its NEVER the same. One moment its 80GB free, and then ten minutes later its 100GB free, and yet another ten minutes later it says 40GB free. So I have NO clue how much space this PC really has open. This is getting annoying. Â So, I got a copy of Windows XP and put it on a new harddrive using our other PC. Â My Question For GeekSquad… Â If I were to pop open the Vista PC case, take out the Harddrive it currently has and put in the XP harddrive, will there be any issues with the onboard sound card, CD Drive, and other "integrated" things this PC has? Â Or should I simply toss this POS Vista machine in the trash and build a new PC with XP on it?
