China Mobile's 7-inch Android slate gets rendered… (Engadget …

We’ve nothing much to go on outside of a few good renders and a smattering of machine translated paragraphs, but it sure sounds as if China Mobile is entertaining the idea of bringing a 7-inch Android-based tablet to its airwaves. … Eizo 24-inch FlexScan S2433W-H debuts, inspires blank stares · Engadget 3 hours ago. 5800 XM WPA-PSK and network profiles problem

Hi,   I’ve just purchased a 5800XM phone, with the idea of setting up my personal email account on the device, using my office’s network access point.   The access point / router is a Comtrend 5361. The SSID is set to hidden (no broadcast), and the security is set to WPA-PSK (pre-shared key).   On the Nokia phone I go to ‘Settings -> Connectivity -> Wireless LAN’ and choose ‘Other (hidden netw.)’. Then I choose ‘Connect’, set the WLAN network name, the phone shows a message ‘No WLAN network found’, but then prompts to choose network mode (Infrastructure – Hidden),  and then password. It connects succesfully and asks for storing the network profile under offline mode, I tell it to do so, and the new profile appears under ‘Network destinations -> Internet’. So until now everything seems ok.   The problem is that after the phone disconnects from the internet, the stored profile seems to be useless, since the phone never connects automatically even if the AP is available and always shows ‘Search for WLAN’. In the list the hidden access point never shows up so the only choice is repeating the steps that I mentioned above, creating a new profile every time I want to surt the net.   Is there a solution to this, or a third party software that can do the trick?, I have OS V21.0.25, custom version 21.0.025.219.06 from Vodafone, no updates available as of today, but I’ve tested it with a phone that has the latest OS v30 and it shows the same behavior.   I can’t change the access point settings, so I must stick to WPA and hidden SSID, so for me this is almost a deal breaker.

Anyone know how can I make my phone to read japanese characters?  And if someone can help me with maps I can’t figure out how to use it. I start application and when I get very close it auto close. I don’t have any WLAN connections don’t know how to make one. Maybe that’s why I can’t use the maps and the GPS?

A Problem with my phone (Sound & Speed)

Yesterday I heavily used my phone. I did many video calls, used the internet, downloaded and saved a "configuration SMS message" etc.   Especially after I downloaded and saved a configuration SMS message, I realized that the phone’s speed/performance slowed down a bit. The configuration message was about Mobile TV’s Access Point Connection Settings. The configuration message was saved under "Access Points" menu..   Then I realized the phone’s sounds seemed like I turned the volume down. Sounds like "warning tones" sounded "faded down" or something. It was weird.   Also, when I recieve a SMS message, there was no sound at all. I have that Nokia’s very traditional "Message" tune, but it was like the phone was in "Silent Mode." I was recieving messages very quietely. No "sound" in notifiying.   I switched off the phone, then took the battery out and restarted the phone, and everything was back to normal. The speed, the sound in recieving a SMS message and all.   Should I worry or do you think the problem is gone now? Could this be just a minor temporary bug? I was wondering what could cause it to happen in the first place? It never happened before.   Thanx.

Are you happy with your N97? (Psychomania where are you)

Are you guys happy with your N97s? Do you have major problems with it? (I have heard some issues such as connections to internet without user authorization and can’t be turned off, do you have that?)   What about the white one? Do you think white one will be a dirt magnet? Any dirt problems with white one?   Thx

N97 Installing QuickOffice

Hi guys,   I’m thinking of purchasing and installing QuickOffice app (for editing & creating facilities) but I’m not sure if I can install it entirely on E drive, whithout any residue in C:.   Do you think this is possible?   Say you can do it, in that case will the app function without any issues?   Thanks guys.
