N97 FM Radio Application – Lost
July 30th, 2009
jedwan I had to reinstall the firmware of my Nokia N97 and restore the factory settings of the phone. After reinstalling the firmware ( note this is not the newest firmware because it is not yet available in the Philippines ) and restoring the factory settings ( I can’t remember which came first ) … I lost some apps. One of the apps that I lost is the FM Radio App.  Question? How can I reinstall the FM Radio App? I searched the nokia site and didn’t find one. They have the internet radio app – which I don’t need. I also searvhed Ovi Store and didn’t find one. I also searched for it in the internet and could not find one.  I am tempted to reinstall the firmware and to restore the factory settings … but I’m afraid of what other supposedly – out of the box app that came with the phone will get lost. By the way — I submitted this question to the support site and this is what I was told:  – I lost it because I restored the Factory settings.  I was confused with this answer because I thought part of the features being marketed for N97 is it’s capability to play FM radio. So if it’s not part of the factory settings — why market it?  – Nokia does not have a copy of the app – and I have to search the internet for a copy of the app.  Again … this is a confusing answer … it came with the phone when I bought it … so a copy of the app must be found somewhere.  So why can’t they post it in Ovi store? Or why can’t they e-mail the app to me?  I hope an expert Nokia user out there can help me.  Thanks in advance.

Why there isnt option to save images as .RAW?
July 30th, 2009
jedwan for example n86 8mp saves the images as 1mb jpgs right? it takes picture > compresses it > saves it  it wouldnt be much of a hassle to add option to not to compress photos if wanted
i wonder why you cant do this yet or correct me if im wrong
the images would take approx 50 megabytes this way, but you could later save them as png’s for example or just less compressed jpgs for better quality Message Edited by witeshade on 30-Jul-2009 07:06 PM

N97 Screen Shaky and Loose Battery Slot+unable to search email
July 30th, 2009
jedwan Hi everybody.  I have seen many ppl reporting software problems but mine are are related to the hardware.  My N97 has a shaky screen, when I slide out the keyboard, hold the top right hand side of the screen and apply a little force forth and backward I can see the right handside of the screen moved by 2mm wide. While it doesn’t affect the features, it’s still annoying because everytime when you use the touchscreen it does shake abit and reminding you its defection. The left handside of the screen is stable and firm anyway.  Also the battery slot doesn’t hold the battery firmly, if I open the battery cover and face it downward the battery will just drop out. Putting a small piece of paper in between the battery and the slot does solve the problem though.  Some say these are merely minor issues but hei it shouldn’t happen on a £500 Nokia flagship phone.  Has anyone having the same problem?  Lastly, it doesn’t seem that I can search email on N97 like I do on E71, any advice? Â
