Will Buy First Laptop

jedwan Hi,  I am considering buying a laptop for writing mental health case notes and a novel to be transferred to my desk top for printing. In addition I would occasionally check my email and do a little surfing.  That’s it.  I won’t be doing games, photos, movies or anything else. I don’t need all the bells and whistles, especially since I am not tech savvy and would never learn to use extra features.  My needs are for sufficient power and speed plus reliability. Price, brand and looks do not matter.  Preferably I would like to be able to use it right out of the box, but could probably manage to install something if necessary.   What would folks recommend? Thanks for the help.

July 30th, 2009 jedwan i would like to know how can i transfer a movie from web to my n97 , also is there need to buy any apps ? or can be done direct , i have seen on nokia site which says we can buy movie from amazon.com and put it in the device ,,,but don’t say how , if i down load a movie from CD to my PC so is there a way or how can i put that movie in my n97 ,,,,2_ how can i switch my device’s memory to SD card so movies can be down loaded to SD card instead of phones memory . please explain it to me like a i am a 6years old kid to understand . thank you so much.

July 30th, 2009 jedwan I’ve experienced an "echo" of my own voice when using a stereo headset with my nokia e71x. I hear my voice through the speakers when on a voice call. It is incredibly annoying and I have tried two wired stereo headsets: The one sold in AT&T retail stores with the Nokia e71x compatability logo and an after market headset with 2.5 mm adapter.  Has anyone else run into this? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

July 30th, 2009 jedwan As a long term user of bluetooth (first experience was with an Ericsson phone in 2001!), I am after some assistance.  E66 Nokia – recently updated with latest firmware – 300.21.012 Jawbone Prime BT headset – new  The E66 pairs with the Jawbone without a problem BUT the E66 will not hold the connection for more than 20 – 30 seconds before disconnecting. It then re-connects briefly before disconnecting again. After a 3rd attempt, it then fails to re-connect.  I have paired the Jawbone to my laptop via bluetooth and it remains connected and useable..  I changed my BT headset from a Jabra 250v as I had the same problems but assumed that the problem was the jabra and not the Nokia…  Therefore, I am assuming that the problem lies with the NOKIA and it’s bluetooth.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

July 30th, 2009 jedwan I have a five year old Dell PC. I tried to install a driver for the sound blaster live card and a window popped up saying that the installation shield was not working properly. The driver could not be installed. Any ideas based on this information?
